A claymation platformer shot at twelve frames a second
About
Fig is a lump of tangerine plasticine with somewhere to be. Run and jump through three little film sets — a plasticine meadow, a crumbling canyon and the Jelly Works — collecting buttons on the way to the red flag at the end of each one.
The picture is shot at twelve frames a second, and the clay boils slightly from frame to frame the way hand-made plasticine does. The 12 fps button in the corner switches to smooth 60 fps if you want to see what that changes.
Every fall is another take, and the take counter sits on the slate next to your time and your buttons. Jelly springs launch you high, crumbling blocks shake for a moment and then drop away, moving platforms carry you along, and the purple critters can be squashed from above — but only from above.
A and D or the arrow keys run, Space jumps (hold it for a higher one), R reshoots the scene and Enter starts. Clear all three scenes and you get your total time, your buttons and your takes.
